Frequently Asked Questions

Q: At what age is my child eligible to receive the clinical services provided by the ALDC?
A:  Our clinicians work with children who are 6 to 18 years old.  The child must also be attended grades 1 through 12 to be eligible.

Q:  What clinical services does your clinic provide?
A:  We specialize in child and adolescent behavior disorders and learning problems.  Our clinicians provide Diagnostic Evaluations, parent, child, or family sessions, consultation with local schools (to create plans such as the IEP or 504 Plan), and in-home tutoring for academic needs and study skills deficits.

Q:  What do your clinicians provide in a Diagnostic Evaluation?
A:  In order to properly diagnosis your child, our clinicians will evaluate your child for 5 hours, which is broken up into 2-3 sessions.  These sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings.  The evaluation includes the report with feedback and recommendations.  Call Carrie at 540-568-6484 for more information.

Q:  What are the fees for each of your clinical services?
A:  Please call 540-568-6484 to learn about payment options; payment plans are available.

Q:  Do you accept insurance as payment for these services?
A:  Our fees are very competitive, but at this time we cannot accept insurance.  Instead, our services are offered on a non-profit basis, where the clinic fees pay only for the time of the clinician and needed assessment materials. Payment plans are available and we strive to work with families to develop a payment plan that is right for them.

Q:  Do your clinical services include prescribing medication for my child?
A:  Our clinic does not prescribe medication, but we can refer you to local doctors specializing in this area.
