There are clinical opportunities for graduate students to work with families, supervise undergraduate students, provide individual treatment, and complete diagnostic evaluations. There are research opportunities to complete theses, dissertations, and Ed.S. projects. Students may also participate on research teams conducting federally funded research initiatives. Graduate students participating on these teams have co-authored book chapters, journal articles, and book reviews. In addition, graduate students have presented research at regional, national, and international conferences. Related research opportunities are available including the preparation of IRB proposals, supervision of research assistants, reviewing manuscripts as part of the peer review process for journals, analyzing data, designing studies, and participating in the preparation of foundation, state, and federal grants. Graduate assistantships and travel support are available for some students.
