The Interactive Media Project

The Interactive Media Project is a two year study at the Alvin V. Baird Attention and Learning Disabilities Center that utilizes a combination of computer software and evidence-based behavioral and learning strategies in interactive media for children with ADHD. Our research team is developing and evaluating video games and activities with the goal that they are both enjoyable and motivating for children with ADHD. Additionally, the research team hopes to reveal whether or not these interactive games enhance the child’s capabilities and help improve the impact of ADHD.

Families will be recruited to help us develop the games and parent training materials. The parent training materials will explain the computer games the child is using and also include ways to integrate the lessons incorporated in the game into daily activities. Our researchers will compare families to measure rates of adherence, engagement, satisfaction and children’s functional outcomes.
