Directions

To Summer Youth Programs

Both JumpStart and STP will be located at the Health and Human Services building off of Carrier Drive on the JMU campus. Directions to this building are provided below.

Directions from Route 81:

  • Take Route 81 until exit 245.
  • On the exit ramp, turn right onto Port Republic Rd.
  • At the first light, very soon after you turn onto Port Republic, make a left onto Forrest Hill Road. (At the light, there will be a Texaco and an Exxon Gas Station.)
  • Make a left at the stop sign onto University Boulevard.
  • You will drive past the Convocation Center on the left and the Arboretum on the right. Just Past the Arboretum, turn left onto Carrier Drive.
  • As you follow Carrier Dr., you will pass the Festival Center and new construction on the left.  Past these landmarks, you will see a bus turn-off on the left which is the drop-off point for your child.  You are welcome to turn left into the D-2 parking lot, or pull through the bus turn off for pick-up and drop-off.

Directions from Route 33 West:

  • Take Route 33 west. At the stop light for University Blvd, turn right.
  • At this intersection, you will see the entrance to Kroger’s on the right and a BB&T bank on the left. Proceed through two more stop lights. 
  • You will see an IHOP restaurant, a movie theatre, and a Sheetz Station.
  • Once you pass Reservoir Rd., the next road on the right will be Carrier Drive, where you will turn right.
  • As you follow Carrier Dr., you will pass the Festival Center and new construction on the left.  Past these landmarks, you will see a bus turn-off on the left which is the drop-off point for your child.  You are welcome to turn left into the D-2 parking lot, or pull through the bus turn off for pick-up and drop-off.

Evaluations for STP will be held in our offices in Blue Ridge Hall. Directions to our offices are located below.

Directions via Port Republic Road

  • Take Route 81 until exit 245.

  • Just past the JMU entrance on your left, you will see Blue Ridge Hall on the left.  Turn left here into the R-4 parking lot.  Enter the building at the front entrance.  Please wait in the lobby by the elevator.  Someone will meet you there at the time of your appointment.

Directions from Route 33 West

  • Take Route 33 west. At the stop light for University Blvd, turn right.

  • Once you pass Reservoir Rd., you will see a sign on the right for Tuesday Mornings and the R-4 parking lot, where you should turn right.  Blue Ridge Hall is this large building set back from the road.  Enter the building at the front entrance.  Please wait in the lobby by the elevator.  Someone will meet you there at the time of your appointment.
