Kathryn Van Eck is a Graduate Assistant in the Alvin V. Baird Attention and Learning Disabilities Center and a Graduate Apprentice for the Challenging Horizons Program, an afterschool program for middle school students with ADHD.
She holds a BM in Voice Performance from Indiana University's School of Music. After singing professionally for several years, she began her career in psychology as a Project Coordinator of a study investigating the effects of temperament assessed in infancy on adolescent behavior. This study was run through the Child Development Lab at the University of Maryland. Last year, she began her M.A. in Psychological Sciences at James Madison University.
She is interested in school-based interventions that improve the outcome of adolescents with externalizing disorders, particularly ADHD. Additionally, she is interested in etiology, prognosis, and treatment of social impairment in adolescents with ADHD.
